Item 1.01 Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement.
Promissory Note
On March 28, 2024, NexPoint Real Estate Finance, Inc. (“NREF”) loaned $500,000 to NexPoint SFR Operating Partnership, L.P. (the “SFR OP”), the operating partnership of NexPoint Homes Trust, Inc., an entity that is advised by an affiliate of the manager of NREF. In connection with the loan, SFR OP issued a $500,000 12.50% note (the “SFR OP Note”) to NREF on March 31, 2024. The SFR OP Note bears interest at 12.50%, which is payable in kind, is interest only during the term of the SFR OP Note and matures on March 31, 2025.
