ZenaTech’s ZenaDrone Finalizes its Third Generation Design and “Production Model” of the ZenaDrone 1000 for US Defense and Commercial Markets
Vancouver, British Columbia, (February 25, 2025) -- ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA) ("ZenaTech"), a technology company specializing in AI (Artificial Intelligence) drones, Drone as a Service (DaaS), enterprise SaaS and Quantum Computing solutions, announces that its subsidiary ZenaDrone has finalized its third generation design of the ZenaDrone 1000 multifunction drone that will be used as its “production model” for scaling up production.
It includes many upgrades from the second generation design, including a more powerful 100-volt propulsion system and a more aerodynamic carbon fiber body enabling longer flight times, faster speed, and heavier lift capabilities to maximize use for US defense and commercial market requirements. The patented design and advancements of this drone will form the basis of the company’s “production model” drone. ZenaDrone plans to commence the manufacturing and assembly of at least ten of these drones per month starting in Q1 2025 at its manufacturing facility in Sharjah, UAE.
“Locking in the ZenaDrone 1000 third generation design specifications is a milestone that solidifies our design following extensive testing and customer input. We can now begin to scale up production with our fastest, largest, and most robust drone yet. For US defense applications, this translates to longer endurance, higher payload capacity, and a greater operational range than many competitive products. In commercial customer applications, this design also enables better reliability and performance, particularly for high-power tasks like aerial surveys and crop spraying,” said CEO Shaun Passley, Ph.D.
The global military drone market is estimated to be a US $14 billion industry in 2023, which includes the $5 billion US market, and it is expected to grow to $47 billion globally by 2032 according to Fortune Business Insights research.
Medium-sized drones used for military defense applications require speed, power, and heavy-lift capabilities to enhance their effectiveness in field and logistical support. Speed is critical for evading enemies, conducting rapid resupply missions, and providing real-time intelligence. Power ensures they can operate in harsh environments, including high winds and adverse weather. Heavy-lift capabilities are essential for transporting critical supplies like ammunition, medical equipment, and food to frontline troops or moving large payloads of equipment over challenging terrain, including rivers and canyons.
The ZenaDrone 1000 is a medium-sized autonomous drone, in a VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) quadcopter design with eight rotors. It is designed for stable flight, maneuverability, heavy lift capabilities currently up to forty kilos, incorporating innovative software technology, AI, interchangeable sensors, and purpose-built attachments, along with compact and rugged hardware engineered for industrial and defense use.
ZenaDrone previously completed paid trials with both the US Air Force and the US Navy using its drones for carrying critical cargo — such as blood — in the field. ZenaDrone plans to manufacture and assemble its US Department of Defense (DoD) destined drones in Phoenix, Arizona.
The company previously announced that its supply chain is fully NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) compliant and that it plans to apply for Green UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) followed by Blue UAS certification and has begun preparing for this process. These are both approved supplier lists for drone companies that wish to sell to US DoD and a growing number of government and law enforcement departments that include strict cybersecurity and country of origin requirements including drone parts and components.

ZenaTech’s ZenaDrone Benefits from New Chinese Tariffs
Also Helping its Commercial and Defense Customer Markets
Vancouver, British Columbia, (March 6, 2025) -- ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA) ("ZenaTech"), a technology company specializing in AI (Artificial Intelligence) drones, Drone as a Service (DaaS), enterprise SaaS and Quantum Computing solutions, today announces an update on its US-based ZenaDrone subsidiary’s Arizona and Taiwan manufacturing supply chain strategy in light of the current economic changes and tariffs announced by the current US Administration. ZenaDrone will continue to source and manufacture drone cameras, sensors and other related components at its Taiwan-based Spider Vision Sensors company to reduce its supply chain risk and ensure NDAA-compliant parts for its US Defense-destined drone products, which will be manufactured in Arizona. The company also benefits from recent announcements doubling tariffs on Chinese imports including drones and parts from 10% to 20% which will negatively impact many US drone companies and customers given the drone industry dominance of China.
“The current administration’s focus on strengthening US manufacturing and reducing reliance on Chinese drone imports is a game-changer for American companies like ours. With increased tariffs on Chinese drones and components, and new incentives for domestic production, we are well-positioned to expand our operations to manufacture in Arizona, also creating more high-quality American jobs. Since we’ve already initiated sourcing of our component parts from Taiwan instead of China, we can avoid supply chain disruptions while benefiting from potential US manufacturing tax breaks. We believe this makes our drones more competitive for both government and commercial markets,” said CEO Shaun Passley, Ph.D.
“This also puts us ahead of domestic competitors who may be facing challenges with supply chain instability and less access to cutting-edge technologies. By leveraging Taiwan's capabilities and our focus on security and compliance, we're poised to meet increasing defense demand while minimizing operational risks,” added Dr. Passley.
The Spider Vision Sensors Taiwan office opened in November 2024 to manufacture drone cameras, sensors, electronics, and components, including LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), thermal, infrared, and multi-spectral sensors, and circuit boards to incorporate into ZenaDrone’s finished products. Having in-house manufactured sensors and components will enable ZenaDrone to maintain a steady supply to fulfill customer drone order needs at its Sharjah, UAE manufacturing facilities as well as its future Arizona-based drone manufacturing facilities for US military-destined “Made in America” drones.
Taiwan was selected due to its size and skills as an electronics hub, and the availability of low-cost alternative components versus those from China. Spider Vision Sensors will ensure ZenaDrone’s products and supply chain are compliant with the US NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) requirements necessary to do business with the US Military. This along with the Green UAS (Uncrewed Arial System) and the Blue UAS are important certifications ensuring cybersecurity and country of origin compliance for drone companies which the company has stated it plans to achieve.

ZenaTech Signs LOI to Acquire Sixth Land Survey Company in Arizona and First in the Southwest Region for Drone as a Service
Vancouver, British Columbia, (March 11, 2025) -- ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA) ("ZenaTech"), a technology company specializing in AI (Artificial Intelligence) drone, Drone as a Service (DaaS), enterprise SaaS and Quantum Computing solutions, announces that it has signed an LOI (Letter of Intent) to acquire a sixth land survey engineering company located in Arizona. Upon completion, this will be the first acquisition in the Southwest Region and will serve as a launchpad to further regional development and the Company’s national DaaS business model bringing the speed and precision of AI drone solutions in a convenient subscription or pay-per-use model for businesses and government users.
“Arizona is a strategic location for our first potential Southwest region acquisition as we currently have business offices and a testing site in Phoenix. We can continue to benefit from the state’s favorable regulatory and manufacturing climate for drone companies. Our vision is to use a single location as a regional launchpad for adding future locations, and ultimately building our national presence offering ZenaDrone products and services for land surveys and many other applications,” said CEO Shaun Passley, Ph.D.
Drones as a Service or DaaS works similarly to Software as a Service (SaaS), but instead of providing software over the internet, it offers drone technology solutions and services on a subscription or pay-per-use basis. With DaaS, businesses and government customers can conveniently access drones for tasks such as surveying, inspections, security and law enforcement, or precision agriculture solutions or without having to buy, operate or maintain the drones themselves.
ZenaTech’s DaaS model offers customers like government agencies, builders and real estate developers, construction firms, farmers or energy companies reduced upfront costs as there is no need to purchase expensive drones, and convenience as the service provider manages maintenance and operation. DaaS also offers scalability to companies to use more often or less often based on needs and enables access to advanced drone technology and applications without the need for specialized training or equipment.
Accurate land surveys are essential for the planning, design, and execution of roads, bridges, and building projects for cities, commercial, and residential projects, and are required for legal purposes. Remotely piloted drones with an array of sensors and cameras, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), and GPS systems for capturing high-resolution pictures and data are revolutionizing the land survey industry gathering aerial data across expansive terrains in a matter of hours instead of weeks or months using more traditional photogrammetry methods.
According to Fact.MR, the global drone surveying market is poised for substantial growth and is expected to be worth over USD $8 billion globally by 2030. This market is expanding at a CAGR of 15-20%, driven by increasing demand from industries such as construction, agriculture, and infrastructure development.
